Beautiful hike. I arrived around 2PM on a Saturday and found one parking spot available. The trailhead sits at an elevation of 11,541 ft. It is label as moderate due to the rock slide parts, you can bring hiking poles if needed. The lake is beautiful with a smal island in the middle, depending on weather, you will see a beautiful green hue. The trail is family friendly, just be careful on the rocky parts. Pet friendly. Leave No Trace. Keep Colorado Beatiful. š
I stopped here on my way back to Denver from Crested Butte and Iām so glad I did. The lake was an incredible emerald green. It reminded me of Lake Angeles in Mount Rainier. I wish I had brought my swimsuit to take a little swim at the lake. The 3.4 mile out-and-back trail was wide and accessible; two people could easily walk and talk each way. Being in the San Isabel forrest inspires me to plan a trip out here next year and hit all the trails. It was so fun to do an impromptu stop and hike.
The new trail is easy to hike and follow. Plenty of parking!
Amazing, absolutely amazing. A little tough, but worth it.
Picturesque hike to a beautiful lake.
