American Flag Mountain

Great Trail, good views. Fairly easy to intermediate trail.

The pinnacle offers amazing views of surrounding peaks and the landscape below. Italian Creek trail is also very scenic and a fun trip. What a great feeling, to visit a memorial for our fallen soldiers at 12700' up on the mountain top. Great views and very humbling. But, the roads to and from are rough, and when I say rough, I mean a downtown Detroit street that hasn't been touched in 10 years. My Jeep became a shaker that literally took it out of us. I don't remember it being so bad 4 years ago, but that will be my last! The trail to the top branches off from Italian Creek / Reno Divide trail (the rough stuff) and heads up that he side of the mountain. Looks intimidating, but just drop into 4 low and head on up. It's really not that bad. For the drive to get there, it's a must see, really. It's worth it.

We made it up to the top even with some early fall snow. It was a little challenging but well worth the challenge. The views on a clear day are epic👍👍

One of, if not the most beautiful place I have been.... The trip to get there is not for everyone. Rough windy mountain trails but I wouldn't trade that experience for anything!!
